Duran Duran and Nile Rodgers/Chic

Sunday, July 31st, 2016

Check out my Twitter feed @drshim_derm for some great clips of these incredible, talented performers. I highly recommend their show!

When the world is so uncertain, I’m glad we have musicians who bring us happiness and good times forever! It’s been 32 years since I’ve seen them and this time we didn’t need my friend’s mom to escort us (she read her novel with earplugs and an itty bitty night light while we danced and screamed on top our chairs!)

It’s also really too bad such a great outdoor venue, Irvine Meadows, is going to be destroyed though it wasn’t really designed safely for these crazy times (not enough exits). The weather was absolutely perfect and it’s going to be more challenging to get tickets to shows in the LA area I think.

Nile Rodgers was also fabulous. He’s accomplished so much in his career and we were all really moved by his cancer survival story. It’s been a pleasure to get to know a number of other prolific songwriters/producers and musicians in my practice. I’m convinced there are only two degrees of separation at most for many of my patients and executives in the entertainment industry!

Happy Birthday to my lovely girls

Watch out, Britney!

Building Legos

I cannot believe my girls have turned 7 and it is almost August!

We repeated the animal party. Stella the Boa was still friendly and fun to handle. I’m surprised that I could entertain over 60 adults and kids at our house. Thank you to Reptacular Animals for still making it to our party, despite an evacuation from the Sand Fire. They are great to work with and I highly recommend them for your next event. Kids and adults love the show.

I wish my girls could just stay 6 forever, I know that is really selfish! It’s a fascinating age where they are discovering so many things and becoming very humorous people.

It is also fascinating that soon they will be able to play tennis and golf with me. One of my daughters wanted to use my golf clubs and looks like I’ll be able to learn from her soon! Click on the link to see her swing. CLICK HERE FOR GOLF “MOMMY, CAN I USE YOUR CLUBS?”

Thank you for being patient and understanding with our wait times. I know my patients have been used to me being more available and it has just been a very busy time this summer. We can always try to fit you in for emergencies and I have colleagues that I’m happy to refer you to in case I’m not available at the time you need. Going to my second office is always an option too, especially midday.
