Tis the Season for Laser Hair Removal

OK. It is just plain scary that another year has passed very quickly. In any case, a friendly reminder that this is the ideal time of year to undergo laser hair removal treatments, especially on the arms and legs. Why? Because most of us are no longer wearing short sleeves or miniskirts. The laser cannot distinguish between the melanin in tanned skin versus the hair.  It does take multiple treatments to see delayed growth and thinning hair, so  it is best to get a jump start when you can.

The number of treatments depends on the patient and can be quite unpredictable. Most patients see a notable improvement after the 3rd treatment. The underarms and bikini can take as little as 5 to 7 treatments to see a lot of permanent removal, though areas of thinner fuzzy hairs can take longer.

Laser hair removal is one of the most satisfying treatments out there, but it is best done in the hands of someone with a lot of experience. All laser treatments in California must be performed by a licensed RN or an MD though there are a number of places that break the rules. Although I could delegate the treatments, I feel it is best to treat the patients myself for safety.
