Fat transfer is a procedure which uses your own excess fat as a filling substance for deep contours. The fat is removed under local anesthesia, and is frozen for a series of injections. Some injected fat may last permanently, but injections may need to be repeated to sustain results.

Unlike collagen (which is usually from cows or cadavers) or silicone, your own fat is a more hypo-allergenic, natural filling agent. It is commonly injected below the deep smile lines and central face to provide a more youthful appearance.
